Consulate General of Cape Verde in Boston publicly repudiates "accusations of using the institution as a partisan instrument"

In the document, the diplomatic representation strongly rejects the accusations "including insinuations about a possible use of the institution as a partisan instrument" and stresses that it is a state institution, "whose mission is to serve all Cape Verdean citizens, regardless of political affiliation, ideology or party position."

The same source says that "all the activities carried out by the Consulate General strictly follow the principles of legality, impartiality and transparency, in accordance with the rules established by the Government and other institutions of the Republic".

As for the Consular Portal, the consulate-general states that it "is public and freely accessible to any citizen who wishes to register or request documents online" and guarantees that no citizen who is not an employee of the institution has access to the system to make data changes.

The Consulate General concludes the statement by assuring "institutional neutrality, the defense of national interests and dignified and equal service to all citizens" and appeals "to the Cape Verdean community not to be led astray by false information, and to always use the official channels of the Consulate General to obtain clarification."
